B. Netanyahu reiterated Israel's position that Syrian President Bashar al-Assado and his Iranian-backed allies should abide by the 1974 treaty establishing a demilitarized zone along the border between the two sides. The Prime Minister added that Israel would continue its efforts to prevent its main enemy, Iran, from ensuring a lasting military presence in Syria.
