The week last, Mr. Pompey went to Pyongyang for two days, where he tried to agree on the realization of the denuclearization commitments made public by Dr. Trumpo and Kim Jong-Un. North Korea has long sought denuclearization, but sees it as a long process of ill-defined multilateral disarmament across the Korean peninsula rather than a unilateral liquidation of its nuclear arsenal.
After a visit to North Korea in Tokyo, Mr. Pompeo affirms progress and the process itself is "benign".
However, Pyongyang published a completely different, very negative answer. North Korea has warned that pending US demands that Pyongyang unilaterally abandon its nuclear arsenal threaten the future of the peace process.
