Last week, from 2 to 8 July, the NATO air policing function in the Baltic States was fired twice by international airspace on military planes flying over the Baltic Sea

NATO airmen protecting the Baltic airspace identified the IL-76 aircraft on 2 July, airlifted from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation to the mainland of Russia.

The same day, the NATO fighter plane accompanied the AN-26 and two SU 30 aircraft. The aircraft was flying with an on-board radar transponder, supported by the radio remote control Regional Air Traffic Control Center, without pre-announced flight plan. The AN-26 flew from the Kaliningrad region to the mainland of the Russian Federation with an on-board radar transponder, supported the radio link with the regional center of air traffic control and did not no more flight plan.
