The Peace Prize of Westphalia will be awarded to the Baltic Presidents in Germany

At the ceremony in Münster, the Baltic States welcome German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. According to the press service of the Republic of Latvia, the Westphalia Prize is dedicated to the Baltic States for an outstanding example of democratic development and contribution to European peace

The Peace Prize of Westphalia is awarded every two years . Among the winners are former Czech President Vaclav Havel, former UN Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kofi Annan, King Abdullah II of Jordan, former German Chancellors Helmut Kohl and Helmut Schmidt.

This year's laureates are young Scouts

The founder of the award is the Westfalen and Lippean Regional Business Association, which brings together more than 60 international companies

The Westphalian Award was established in 1998 to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Peace of Westphalia. This treaty put an end to the wars of religion in Europe, to lay the foundations of contemporary international politics.
