COVENTRY, Ohio – Local schools in Coventry will be closed Monday due to widespread technological issues.

Superintendent Lisa Blough announced the news in a letter to families posted on the district's Facebook page.

She explained that by the end of last week, the district's network and computers had been infected with the "Trickbot" virus.

The district technology team worked diligently to solve the problem, but "the process is long and laborious".

"As we can not guarantee that the necessary operating systems will be operational tomorrow, it is in the interest and well-being of our students to cancel their studies. As a result, local schools in Coventry will be closed tomorrow Monday – May 20, "wrote Blough.

The district would use all available resources and staff to master the situation.

They hope that Monday will be the only day that Coventry will have to cancel his studies. During this time, staff members will always have to go to work.

Blough will also follow up to confirm what will happen at school on Tuesday.
