Man Utd could have to consider the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 10 things we learned

Manchester City sealed the title of Premier League, while Liverpool was sidelined by a single point on the last weekend.

Elsewhere, Manchester United sided with Cardiff, Arsenal finished fifth thanks to a win against Burnley and the Spurs played an entertaining draw with Everton when they placed in the top four.

AMITAI WINEHOUSE evaluates here 10 things we learned during the last weekend of the high season …

1. Throughout the recent Manchester United economic crisis, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs better players this summer. The question really should be to know if it is the man who will take them there.

The last time Cardiff beat United, it was before a man entered the space for the first time. The Bluebirds have also taken more points – six – than United – five – in their last six games. It's a relegated team, and not very good, who won 2-0 at Old Trafford. It also meant that they had finished the season with only two clean sheets at home.

United has now finished at 32 points from the champions and at the same distance from the team in 18th position. This goes beyond the idea that players are not good enough or motivated.

If Ed Woodward wants to fight for the title, it's the name of the game. Ole should not really be driving.

2 Are we on the way to another team to be knocked over their pole? City has not yet reached the level of United in terms of raw trophy, but has won four of the last eight.

Even more, this Pep Guardiola team is relentless. They have won their last 14 games in a row, only the team under the current manager has been better than last season. City still won 32, like last season. They were also late for only 83 seconds.

Once again, they scored a ridiculous number of points – 98 – that were only beaten by their total last season. They still have a long way to go, but a Guardiola dynasty could see their rivals rivals in the shadows.

3 Graeme Souness said that, like Brazil in 1982, was the best team not to win a World Cup, this Liverpool team was the best not to win the Premier League title.

He is right too. No team has yet lost a single game in high season and did not win the title. Liverpool's 97 points would also have been enough to win the Premier League in each of the previous 26 seasons of the competition – the last campaign.

It remains to be seen if they can do it again. Despite this – and it will not so much help the Reds fans – they have been absolutely brilliant in this campaign. It's a shame for them that someone is better.

4 Spurs fans will be dreaming of having big money this summer to take up their new position at the top of the European rankings, but Daniel Levy's most important job is to convince Mauricio Pochettino to stay.

It has been much more open on an outing in recent weeks than ever before. It's yet a man who has led them to four consecutive finals in the top four, which is their best run since 1959-1960 and 1963-1964.

Pochettino has completely changed expectations. If he leaves, it is hard to imagine that the Spurs have the same strength, whether they are autographed or not.

5 It's strange to be a year after Arsene Wenger and continue to do the same, but if there is one place that Arsenal needs to improve, it's far from home.

Yes, they have won many more games on the road, but their defensive solidity has been a problem throughout this campaign. They kept one blank sheet of clothing far from the Emirates, their least in a single high-flying campaign since 1967-1968.

This is where defensive improvements come in. Unai Emery needs the talent in the back to resist when he is not at home.

6 The ridiculous score between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth simply shows what happens when the pressure comes out of the window.

Palace scored five goals in a Premier League match for the third time in its history, which shows that this offensive flair is not trivial. Then Roy Hodgson clearly dropped them, winning his 100th Premier League victory.

This tells you that there is offensive talent in all the camps, even if it is not obvious week after week. And this football can always be fun, even without pressure.

7. As a counterpoint, if you want to avoid the goals, you'd better show up at any match between Leicester and Chelsea.

There's only one goal scored in their last three Premier League games, and it's not like two teams competing in difficult, crucial and challenging games.

For Maurizio Sarri, this is a problem. This is Chelsea's fourth 0-0 win of the season, his highest score since 2013-14, and as a committed manager in the entertainment, a blow to the Italian.

8 Rafa Benitez once again highlighted why it's so important to Newcastle on the last day of the season – the perfect time to send a message to Mike Ashley.

In his first campaign, they fell but beat the Spurs 5 to 1 on the last day. They then won the championship at the last minute before beating Chelsea 3-0 last season. Meanwhile, their 4-0 win at Fulham was the first time that they have won so many bags on the road in two years.

Benitez has turned out to be an elegant manager who makes the most of the talent at his disposal. Newcastle's first port of call this summer is a new contract for him.

9 Congratulations Huddersfield, you really had a catastrophic season. They managed to rank among the top three for the worst campaigns in history.

They joined Derby in 2007-08 and Sunderland in 2005-06 at the bottom of the pile. Only these two players (Derby, 11 and Sunderland, 15) earned less points in a Premier League season than Huddersfield in 2018-19 – and only Derby (20) and Sunderland (21) scored. fewer goals than Town's 22 points.

It is quite easy to write for a team of their size, but it shows how much they need to improve before next season. It was a disaster. At least, they have not established a new reference.

ten. This season has been exceptional in the context of Watford's entire history, even though it has not kept its promises in the league.

They are in the final of the FA Cup and placed 11th, which represents their best ranking in flight since 1986-1987. And that means that Javi Gracia will be certain to survive in a third campaign.

The Hornets have found the man to lead them. They can continue under Gracia and build something impressive.
