Overwatch League deceived by showing the image of serial killers on the airwaves

The Overwatch League's Mother's Day celebrations took a very strange turn, as their broadcast on Twitch finally featured the image of two notorious serial killers.

May 12 being Mother's Day in the United States, Overwatch League decided to hold a special ceremony in honor of all mothers.

They asked fans to tweet photos of themselves with their mother or a mother figure, some of whom would be chosen to be broadcast live on the final of the playoff phase 2 between the Vancouver Titans and the San Francisco Shock.

A fan decided to monitor the entire league team by posting on Twitter an image of Fred and Rosemary West, two infamous British serial killers who terrorized England for three decades.

In order to sell the credibility of the image, the troll tweeted a heartwarming message that convinced the broadcast crew that it was only an innocent image of the deceased mother of a fan.

Although the show's managers may have been completely fooled, their blunder did not escape most of the 200,000 or so people watching the game on Twitch.

To make matters worse for OWL, Richard Lewis, a prominent figure in the sports field, tweeted the clip and called OWL for presenting the picture on their feed, while hilariously referring to their ban on Picture of Pepe.

Who are Fred and Rosemary West?

Fred and Rosemary West were both British serial killers who had been convicted of numerous crimes and dozens of murders between the 1960s and the 1980s.

It is believed that Fred himself committed at least 12 homicides, but before the convictions were pronounced, he committed suicide by suffocating himself in his prison cell.

Rosemary has been found guilty of sexual assault and murder involving at least 10 victims. She was sentenced to life imprisonment, which she is currently serving at HMP Low Newton in Durham, England.

She is best known for murdering her eight year old daughter Charmaine in 1971.
