Measles vaccinations take place in Reykjavik

Parents of 6- to 18-month-old children in Reykjavik were asked to vaccinate them against measles. The Health Directorate is offering measles immunization to children and adults born after 1970 following recent measles cases in the city. Five cases of measles have been reported since 18 February.

Health authorities said most Icelandic children had been vaccinated, as parents of non-Icelandic children may not have heard of incitement and measles cases in English.

Vaccinations against measles will be offered at health centers in Reykjavik between 12 am and 3 pm tomorrow, Monday.
