MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – On Wednesday, Middlesex County announced that six new vaccination sites were now open in the county.
However, New Jersey, like all states, is struggling to meet the demand for the vaccine. Currently, vaccine production is not meeting demand, and even federal vaccine stocks have been depleted. Governor Murphy just said on Tuesday that the state has now opened two-thirds of its vaccination sites, but “all we are missing are the doses of the vaccine we need,” he said.
The supply will continue to be insufficient “for a while,” and Murphy has not specified when or how it will increase.
The new sites are:
- Eastern Brunswick Community Arts Center
- Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville (This was the first site to open in the county; it has been open since the first week of January. However, until today it was only open to police, fire and and healthcare workers. general public.)
- Monroe Township Seniors Center
- The Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center in New Brunswick

These new sites will be opened strictly on the basis of the Middlesex County vaccine supply. If you have any questions or if you cannot register online, call the Middlesex County Call Center at 732-745-3100.
You can only get vaccinated if you are in category 1a (health workers, police and firefighters) and 1b (people over 65 and between 16 and 64 with specific medical conditions).
The Edison Expo Center mega-site opened on Friday. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and once New Jersey has enough vaccines, that site will be able to administer up to 2,400 vaccines per day, according to Middlesex officials.
