New Boston Red Sox Team: Nathan Eovaldi on Wounded List

The list of the wounded of the Red Sox is more and more congested.

Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi was placed on the injured list on Saturday morning with the body released to the right elbow retroactively to April 18th. To qualify, southpaw Bobby Poyner was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket.

In four starts this season, Eovaldi is 6.00, but the Red Sox are 3-1 in their outings. He gave the Yankees a point in six innings on his last start.

The Red Sox have a long period of non-stop games, so they will have to find a fifth starter as long as Eovaldi is out. Hector Velazquez has made two starts this season, so it's a potential option.

We will probably know later Saturday when Alex Cora will meet the media in St. Petersburg.
