Fortnite Season 9: Battle Royale has begun, bringing new skins, a new battle pass, a new v9.0 update, and more. There's a ton of new content to explore right now, like seeing the new Neo Tilted and Mega Mall map areas, but it's also a lot of work for datamers. And they've already talked about it: it seems like a John Wick event is happening at the Epic Royal Battle match.
According to the Twitter user and the Fortnite dataminer FortTory, a series of challenges from John Wick are on the way to Fortnite very soon. It seems like they're going to ask players to collect coins, cause damage with the new fighting rifle and win a match in a new, seemingly time-limited mode called Wick's Bounty. The challenges also refer to a new pistol called tactical assault rifle. It is unclear when the MTL or any of these projects will be posted online, but it is likely that it will be soon.
Beyond that, there is concrete evidence in the game, as John Wick's house, seen in the first two movies, is now on the map. You can see it above.
Another Fortnite leak, Lucas7yoshi, discovered a new cosmetic set of John Wick that seems to bear the code name "assassin suit". Fortnite has received a series of John Wick style cosmetics named "Rented Guns" throughout Season 3, more than a year ago. With John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, which will be theatrical on May 17th, would be the perfect time to organize an official cross-over event.
Avengers: Endgame – and Infinity War before it – recently received similar treatment, with a new Fortnite event based on the Avengers franchise and a full set of Avengers challenges. Meanwhile, John Wick's fans have many other things to look forward to: Thomas Was Alone and Volume developer Mike Bithell are working on John Wick Hex, a new action-strategy game based on movies.
