New photo of Jupiter shared by NASA's Juno mission

The image was taken on February 12th during the 18th flight of Jupiter by the probe. Juno is orbiting the largest planet in our solar system since the summer of 2016. NASA said the probe was only 12,000 km from the clouds of the planet when it captured the beautiful photo with optimized colors of "citizen scientist" Kevin M. Gill with data from the JunoCam imager. Data and images are publicly available so anyone can treat them or search them like a digital sandbox full of spatial data.

With the 18th flyby completed (they take place about every 53 days), there could be more pictures on the way and there will certainly be some more before Juno finishes his mission and crushes on Jupiter in July. 2021. Shortly after this accident, the Space Agency (ESA) will launch JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer) on the planet in orbit in June 2022.
