South African authorities claim that a seriously injured person who was declared dead at the scene of a road accident and taken to a morgue was revealed alive.
The province's health department said the person – reported by South African media as a woman – was taken to a hospital where a medical examiner realized that there had been a mistake following the Accident of June 24th.
The family of the victim was contacted and an investigation is ongoing

According to the statement, Carletonville Mortuary staff, near Johannesburg, had been called to the scene of the accident to gather the bodies of people declared dead by a private emergency service.
