A mother was left stunned after receiving an offensive vocal message from her son's school staff.
Leighanne Bromley's 29-year-old Leighanne Bromley said he received the voice mail last Tuesday from staff members of the RNIB Three Spiers Academy in Coventry, England, where half of the students have spectrum conditions autistic.
The voicemail contains rude remarks about Mrs. Bromley's 10-year-old autistic son, Harley.
Ms. Bromley said her first reaction to voice mail was shocking. She told Yahoo UK that her jaw "just hit the ground – I was stunned."
Harley had been sent home from school that day with a note saying that he had been sick, so Mrs. Bromley called the school. She then received the school's voicemail shortly after.
In the voicemail box, an employee can be heard asking when Harley will return to school. The staff member then seems to think that the call is over, and says to someone "make sure he's gone all week" while the other person asks "that Is it two weeks? "
Rude remarks between staff members continue with another person who reportedly "do not bring him back until July 27."
Mrs. Bromley, who says she never had any problems with the # 39; school up to now, says that the school has been "weak in management" with the problem.
Three Spiers' principal professor, Robert Jones, launched an investigation into the case, and publicly apologized to the mother and son.
"We offer sincere and sincere apologies to Leighanne Bromley," he said. "This type of behavior is not acceptable and goes against the values of our school."
Harley was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at age four in 2013, and has developmental delay.
Mrs. Bromley says her son is a "nice boy".
