Security guards at a Chinese station were surprised by the image of a child on the screen last week.

A boy reportedly crawled into an X-ray machine while his father was not paying attention to a station in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, southern China.

After the father passed the body scan, he could not find his son. While he was starting to look for the child, he was stunned to see the boy come out on the other side of the X-ray machine, according to the Daily Mail.

The incident occurred at Xiaolan Railway Station Guangzhou-Zhuhai intercity railway on October 9, according to the Guangzhou Daily.

The newspaper also released a surveillance video that captures the unusual incident.

Guangzhou Railroad Police released an X-ray image apparently showing the child inside the machine.

The clip shows that father and son did not bring any luggage.

Neither the boy's father nor the station staff seemed to be paying attention to the child when his father was controlled by a worker.

After the boy jumped from the x-ray machine, the father briefly spoke to a security guard before leaving the station with the child.

The police urged parents to take better care of their children during the security check that followed the incident.

A similar incident occurred in February also in Guangdong Province.

One female passenger insisted that she get into an X-ray machine with her purse at a Dongguan station because she feared that it would be stolen otherwise.

Security officers were shocked to see the silhouette of a woman while they were watching X-ray screens.

X-rays are a type of radiation that can cross the human body. They are mainly used for medical purposes and are often performed on one part of the body.

A female passenger also climbed into an X-ray machine at a station in China earlier this year.

According to the NHS, X-ray exposure involves a "small" risk of cancer, several years or decades later. "

An X-ray of the chest, limbs or teeth equals a few days of background radiation and has less than 1 in 1,000,000 chance of causing cancer, the NHS said.
