Police in Samoa announced an investigation Wednesday for next week to investigate the deaths of two babies who died a few minutes after receiving the MMR vaccine at Safotu District Hospital.

Police stated that autopsy samples for both infants had also been sent to abroad for further medical analysis.
Meanwhile, the Samoan Medical Association has expressed its President of the Association, Dr. Tanyamarie Petaia, said the medical association believes that as providers health care in Samoa, they have an astronomical task to accomplish to regain people's confidence in the safety of the health service. The President also stated that the Medical Association unite with all AMOO professionals and health care providers express their sincere apologies for causing by inadvertence of pain and sadness to the families of the two infants who died.
