A man whose family reported suffering from psychosis and depression shot a handgun at restaurants and cafes in a busy Toronto neighborhood, killing a 10-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman and wounding her 13 others.
Authorities today identified the suspect as Faisal Hussain, 29, of Toronto, who died in a shootout with the police. The mass shootout in Toronto's Greektown neighborhood took place three months later, while a van had struck and killed 10 people during an attack apparently directed against women
. Hussain's family statement stated that their son had serious mental health issues as the fight against psychosis and depression. They said that the drugs did not help and that the interventions of the professionals failed.
