NFL Rumors: Russell Wilson, Seahawks, looking for an exchange with this team | NFL

It seems like the NFL is trying to give the NBA a chance to make money in terms of tasty gossip.

The NFL's off-season has already been unusually entertaining, underscored by the uncertain future of Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. If Colin Cowherd's sources are legitimate, you can add another superstar to this list.

Cowherd revealed Wednesday in the edition of "The Herd" that he had heard rumors of a possible blockbuster involving Russell Wilson. Even though Cowherd's report does not give the impression that Wilson desperately wants to leave Seattle, the discussion over FOX Sports 1 explained why the versatile quarterback transferred to the New York Giants made perfect sense.

In addition to the career interests of Wilson's wife, Ciara, the Giants have a lot to offer Wilson. Saquon Barkley has already positioned himself as one of the top forwards in the NFL and, if the franchise manages to get along with Beckham, Wilson would also have the luxury of receiving a top receiver. Not to mention that the G-Men have the No. 6 pick in the repechage this spring.

That said, it's hard to imagine a tragedy in Cowherd's report. Wilson has been the standard bearer of professionalism since his arrival in the league, and there is no sign of bad blood between him and the Seahawks, who reached the playoffs in six of the seven seasons spent under Wilson's colors .

On the contrary, we should probably put this rumor on the back burner. But it's hard to completely rule out anything in the NFL these days.
