It was an interesting week for the Seminole faithful. From soccer matches to soccer, Christmas to the pros and the basketball season approaching, there has been a little something for everyone in the world of FSU sports.
Soccer
The Florida State Seminoles traveled to Chapel Hill last Saturday as a heavy underdog (three scores at one point) for the first time since 2009, when quarterback Christian Ponder led them to a 30-27 victory at Kenan Stadium. Lightning appeared to strike twice with quarterback Jordan Travis at the helm and the tribe added some well-deserved landscaping to their turf graveyard, returning home after a 35-25 road win.
Although the ball-throwing botanist had the honor of bringing home some turf from Caroline, defensive back Jarrian Jones had the opportunity on Saturday to “smash the rock.”

Florida State is heading for a week off to face former FSU offensive coordinator Walt Bell and the University of Massachusetts Minutemen on October 23.

Basketball
The Hoops are here and on November 10 the men’s basketball will face the Penn Quakers to kick off the season. Putting to work during the off-season, they hope to continue their “New Blood” tradition after a 26-5 record last year.
On the women’s side, it seems that the Seminoles have a good first year Makayla Timpson.
All the sports
The lady ranked number one ‘Noles landed the Syracuse Orange in football Friday, topping them five to none, and Miami four to one Sunday. They expect to continue their 13-0 winning streak and are expected to travel to Blacksburg, Va. To face the Virginia tech hokies this Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
Women’s volleyball won Sunday against the Blue devils duke (three scores to one) for the 10th time in a row and will face Virginia at home this Saturday.
