1. Blindside block on Greg Robinson, 12:14 in the first quarter
Verdict: Bad technique
This is a new rule the NFL has instituted for this season, stating that blockages by a player running towards or parallel to his baseline and leading with his helmet, forearm, or shoulder are considered illegal. As Robinson grabbed the Titans alongside Malcolm Butler, he led head and shoulders and ran in the direction of his goal zone. As a rule, the call was correct.
2. Smuggler's Righteousness on Jordan Whitehead, 10:04 in First Quarter
Verdict: Lack of discipline
Almost all the penalties imposed on the smugglers are the result of players who go too much to quarter. Whitehead only cut Marcus Mariota shortly after the pitch. But the referees felt that he had not stopped in time, which resulted in the flag.
3. Illegal double blocking on D'Ernest Johnson, 6:36 am in the first quarter
Verdict: Bad technique
Johnson came to block a player who was already stuck on the return. According to the rule definition, blocking was illegal and costing them 10 yards.
