OGDEN – No arrests have been made in connection with the investigation into a fatal shooting that took place around midnight on Friday, Ogden Police Lt. Michael Rounkles said on Sunday.

Police have visited areas 240 North and 180 East following a reported gunshot wound, police said in a press release on Saturday. A preliminary investigation said a 30-year-old man was shot dead during an altercation with a 31-year-old man, the statement said.

The gunman fled and paramedics from the Ogden fire department arrived, finding the victim dead, the statement said.

Detectives identified a suspect, the statement said, adding that it appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no other threat to the public.

The name of the victim was withheld pending notification to relatives.

Ogden detectives and the Weber County Homicide Task Force are investigating the shooting.
