“The Bachelorette” star Ryan Sutter has opened up about the private health battle he has been waging secretly for months, detailing the symptoms of his mysterious illness to his fans.
Sutter’s wife, OG Bachelorette Trista Sutter, first reported her illness earlier this week – and, after gaining a lot of support and hearing similar stories from their supporters, Ryan decided to share more details about his illness.

In a series of Instagram posts on Tuesday, he explained that he had resumed working as a firefighter earlier this year and, towards the end of his training with Denver Fire, he had started to feel “fitter” and had flu-like symptoms. He said he had been tested for COVID-19 “multiple times,” but his tests never came back positive.
“I finished academy and thought / hoped I would start to recover and feel better. It’s been five months now and, if anything, I’m feeling less well,” he explained. “Although I am functional and continue to work my regular fire schedule, I experience a battery of symptoms which include: fatigue – sometimes almost crippling, deep muscle and body aches, fevers, night sweats, full body itching without a rash skin, headache, swelling of the neck and throat, congestion, dizziness, nausea, and just general all around does not feel well. “
“I have had several blood tests and a CT scan. I have a high ANA titer and low white blood cell count, but nothing else has proven anything conclusive,” he continued. . “I don’t take any medication, I maintain a healthy diet and I do my best to rest. Most of the time I feel about 70%. One day I feel a little better and one day I can barely get out of bed. “

While Trista confirmed that doctors had ruled out cancer, Ryan added that he also didn’t think he had anything contagious – because no one else in his family or work was sick.
“I appear to be sick for some reason. I don’t seem to be alone in this experience. The number of people who share a story similar to mine is incredible,” he wrote. “The struggle to find answers in the medical world and the support of the insurance industry is frustrating and insufficient. One must really and constantly advocate for himself if he hopes to find answers or, at the very least, to rule out possibilities.
Due to his past “questioning” his personal boundaries, Sutter said he felt “well prepared to face [his] current health situation. He also thanked his “strong support group” for being there for him when he needed it most.
“Please don’t worry about me. I’m fine. If you have to worry, worry about each other,” he told his supporters. “Support each other. Be there for each other. The outpouring of support I have received has been humbling and therapeutic. I couldn’t be more grateful. Trista also thanked fans for their support in a tearful video on Tuesday.
“My last post about Ryan’s health drew a lot of people who messaged, texted, emailed and called, and I just wanted to thank you,” the reality vet, 48, said via his story Instagram.
“I know life is busy and I know people have a lot going on these days and trying to survive and get through tough times – or even celebrate successes – and for those of you who have. reached out, who even liked or commented [or] “She continued.” I am so sorry that so many of you are struggling with similar situations and trying to find answers to health issues.
