According to national registries, the year is more than 4,800 new cases and more than 4,087 people die that is, more than 85% of patients die with the disease.
In the majority of cases stomach cancer is caused by infection of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori . The contagion is generated by the intake of untreated and contaminated water, does not properly disinfect vegetables and fruits, and does not boil the water.
All this facilitates the entry of bacteria into the body. Various studies show that l 50% of the world's population is infected with this bacteria at some point in their lives.
Also, this type of cancer occurred in people who have an unhealthy diet that contains large amounts of smoked food, fish salted meat and vegetables preserved in vinegar.
Therefore, the population is recommended that in addition to visiting a specialist once a year take a good diet such as consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables and vegetables to reduce the risk of cancer of the stomach.
Those interested can visit the prevention and detection centers of the League located at Av. Brasil 2746, Pueblo Libre; Av. Nicolás de Piérola 727, Lima and Av. Angamos 2514, Surquillo Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:30 and Saturday from 8:00 to 11:30.
