The snow will begin before sunrise south of Pittsburgh, then move north into the rest of the region in the morning.
The roads will quickly become snowy and the snowfall could reach 1 inch at the hour. The combination of stable snow and rush-hour traffic will result in significant delays as road crews attempt to keep the roads passable.
STORM TRACKER: Hourly look on the snow, winter mix for Wednesday
Several inches of snow will fall, then a mix of slush and freezing rain will move around in the middle of the morning. A layer of snow, then a layer of ice on top will make the trips dangerous at least at noon in many places.

The temperatures will rise above freezing this afternoon and the winter mix will become rain.
Rain may sometimes be regular and drains clogged with snow and ice can cause rain on roads.
This is a difficult storm because the warm air comes from the south and the snow changes to freezing rain, sleet and rain. Check back for updates from Severe Weather Team 11.
