Porter de Mizzou reinterrogates ACL after missing 18-18

Missouri man Jontay Porter recently tore up the ACL, making him miss the season, a school spokesman told ESPN on Saturday.

The 6 foot Porter 11 was in Denver when he was injured. He missed the 2018-1919 season after he tore his ACLs and MCL straight in October, during a pre-season rift against Southern Illinois.

Porter is the younger brother of Michael Porter Jr., the ex-rookie who missed most of his only season in Missouri because of a back injury, but who was still selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 14th pick of the draft last year.

Jontay Porter averaged 9.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks last season as a rookie. Although he was screened as a late-first-round pick last year alongside his older brother, he returned to the Tigers for his second season after testing the NBA's backwaters.

He is ranked 3rd in the center and 24th overall in ESPN for this year's NBA draft.

Knee problems have been a problem for Porter's siblings in recent years. Bri Porter, sister of Jontay and Michael, retired from basketball before last season in Missouri after suffering her fifth ACL tear.

Another sister, Cierra Porter, retired from the Missouri women's team in June due to knee problems, but returned in December and was named sixth woman of the year at the SEC.
