The competition for the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament in 2019 was unveiled Sunday night, ranking first in Penn State rankings, Penn State.
The Nittany Lions have never won an NCAA tournament match in four appearances.
Three-time champion and finalist in 2018, Duke was ranked second favorite, followed by Virginia, ACC champion, third-ranked Penn, Ivy League champion, defending champion Yale, fifth in the lead, sixth Towson, Our Lady seventh and Loyola the seed.
Georgetown, Robert Morris, Army West Point and Richmond were among the unclassified automatic playoffs. Marist and UMBC are expected to face Wednesday. The winner faces Penn State next Sunday at noon, Eastern time, on ESPNU.
Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Syracuse complete the general offers.

"The biggest challenge still lies in the latest general offers," said Jack Hayes, Sports Director and Chair of Brown's Selection Committee. "Cornell just did not live up to the three others – nothing was removed in Cornell, they certainly had a great season."
The Final Four will be held in Philadelphia during the Memorial Day weekend. The national championship game will take place on May 27 at 1 pm AND on ESPN2.
