Rams 0, Seahawks 0 – 12:53 second quarter
Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs knocked out Matthew Stafford in the back of the end zone on what appeared to be a throwaway bad pass, thwarting the Rams’ best scoring chance so far.
Diggs managed to cut his two fees as he rounded up the wandering pass and went out of bounds. It looked like Stafford was either trying to pass Darrell Henderson or toss the ball over the end zone. TV cameras showed Stafford shaking his head on the sidelines after the play.
After the Rams struggled to find momentum on their first two possessions, they finally found their rhythm late in the first quarter. Darrell Henderson started No. 3 possession with a 10-yard run before catching a 17-yard pass for another first down. After Stafford was sacked by Darrell Taylor, he connected on back-to-back passes to Robert Woods for 17 and 25 yards to put the Rams in the red zone for the first time.
Diggs’ interception brought the race to an abrupt end.
