DETROIT (WXYZ) – The public can now register to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination at Ford Field in Detroit. The vaccination clinic officially opens on March 24.
Officials say after people register, they will either receive a voicemail message or a text message letting them know when to book their appointment. Appointments will be scheduled a few days before the opening of the clinic.

“The Ford Field Community Immunization Site is a testament to what we can do when we work together,” Governor Gretchen Whitmer said. “I am grateful for President Biden’s leadership and for the partnership of the Detroit Lions, Meijer, Wayne County, City of Detroit and our federal partners FEMA. We will continue to accelerate our equitable vaccine deployment, and with the addition of the Ford Field community site, we are taking an important step towards getting back to normal as we continue to rebuild our economy.
The Ford Field Immunization Clinic will be open 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week. It will remain open for a total of eight weeks, in accordance with the federal government’s pilot vaccination program.

(Residents who do not have internet access or need assistance navigating the registration process can use the MDHHS COVID-19 hotline to register. Call Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The call center is expected to have long wait times, so it is recommended that you only call those who cannot register online. line or by SMS.)
