NUN RUN: The Ursuline Sisters HIV / AIDS Ministry and the Ursulines Preschool and Kindergarten are hosting the 7th Annual Nun Run 5K, 1-Mile Walk and Kids’ Run. This year, the event will be a hybrid of an in-person event and a virtual event.
The in-person event will take place on October 2 at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields, Road, Canfield. The registration fee is $ 25 in advance or $ 30 on race day. There is no entry fee for the children’s race. Registration will open on race day at the Center des Ursulines auditorium at 7:30 am A fun run for the kids will start at 8:15 am, followed by a one kilometer walk at 8:30 am and the run. from 5 km to 9 h. CANCELED: Due to illness, the West Mecca Biblical Methodist Church canceled its fall revival which was scheduled for Wednesday through October 3 and its fall festival which was scheduled for October 3. The new revival dates have not yet been set. .
CAHILL CONCERT: Internationally renowned Irish tenor Emmet Cahill will perform his fall back-to-school concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Columba’s Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave. near downtown.
This will be the singer’s fourth church appearance, having previously performed in December 2016 and 2017, as well as May 2019. Cahill is one of the lead vocalists of Celtic Thunder, and his concert will be a combination of Irish music, classical music, show arias and church hymns.
Proceeds will go to St. Columba’s pantry and educational programs.
Tickets can be purchased for a special get-together before the concert with Emmet at 6 p.m. for $ 50. The other tickets cost $ 40 for the front of the middle section and $ 30 for the seats at the back of the church.

Lunch will include a presentation by Christina Benton, owner of Just Pizzelles in Cortland. Music will be provided by Karen Gerberry, and guest speaker will be Mary Haddad from Adrian, Michigan, who will speak on “Survival and success in the search for meaning”.
