These changes have had an equally important effect on the amount of solar energy absorbed by clouds and thus on the amount of circulation in the atmosphere of the planet. An intense activity could be observed in the atmosphere of the planet, with clouds circling at more than 300 km / h and could be explained by these changes.

But, adding to the mystery, scientists still do not know why these dramatic changes are happening.

"It's a striking result," adds Limaye. "It suggests that something is changing. We can see the change of brightness. If albedo is changing, it is something that motivates these changes. The question is, what is the cause? "

These dark areas that have been the subject of so much speculation have been described as unknown absorbers and could play a role in these changes.
