Widow of a California health worker who died after receiving Pfizer’s second dose of COVID-19 vaccine says her late husband “believed in vaccines.”
X-ray technician Tim Zook’s health declined sharply after receiving the second shot and he was eventually transferred to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he died on January 9.
“We don’t blame any pharmaceutical company,” Zook’s widow Rochelle told the Orange County Register. “My husband loved what he did. He worked in hospitals for 36.5 years. He believed in vaccines. I’m sure he would take this vaccine again and he would like the public to take it.”
“But when someone has symptoms 2.5 hours after a vaccine, it’s a reaction,” she said. “What else could have happened? We would like the public to know what happened to Tim, so he did not die in vain. Severe reactions are rare. In reality, COVID is a much more lethal force than the reactions of the potential vaccine itself. “

An investigation was underway into Zook’s death after he allegedly developed a wave of medical problems following Pfizer’s second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The Orange County coroner confirmed he was investigating Zook’s death in an emailed statement to Fox News. Additional tests and autopsy results will determine the cause of death.
“If it is determined that there may be a correlation with the vaccine, we will immediately notify the OC health care agency,” spokeswoman Carrie Braun said in a confirmed statement sent to Fox News.
Zook, 60, worked at the South Coast Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, according to the Orange County Register. He posted a photo of his bandaged arm and vaccine card on Facebook and wrote that he had “never been so excited to get the vaccine before. I am now fully vaccinated after receiving my second dose of Pfizer . “
Several hours later, Zook had “an upset stomach and difficulty breathing,” and when conditions worsened, co-workers accompanied him to the emergency room, the outlet reported. He avoided concerns from his wife, Rochelle, that his problems could be related to the vaccine.
According to the report, Zook has repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19 and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. It was then allegedly put on a BiPAP machine, the outlet reported. On January 7, Zook was reportedly placed in a medically induced coma and was breathing through a ventilator.

Pfizer and BioNTech have said they are aware of the death and are looking into the matter in depth, according to an emailed statement to Fox News.

Rochelle Zook told the Orange County Register that her husband was “slightly overweight but in fairly good health.” He had high blood pressure, but it had been controlled with medication, the outlet reported.
“The message is, be careful, take the vaccine – but officials need to do more research,” she told the outlet. “We need to know the cause. Vaccines need to be as safe as possible. Every life counts.”

The news comes amid reports of a separate patient from Placer County who tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of December, was vaccinated Thursday and died several hours after being shot. fire, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday. This case also involves an active investigation into the cause of death.
It is not known whether the unnamed patient received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
The US Food and Drug Administration only gave emergency approval to the vaccine developed by Pfizer / BioNTech after robust clinical trials and careful review of the safety and efficacy data.
Experts from Johns Hopkins University recently said that the serious consequences that can result from the COVID-19 disease, such as hospitalization and death, far outweigh the side effects of vaccines.
