Serena Williams is about to win her 24th personal Grand Slam record in New York.
Williams, back on the field after a minor back injury in Canada, faced long-time rival Maria Sharapova in the first round of the women's singles at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Both players played an intense match between Sharapova and the decisive advantage at one point. In the end, Williams outshot his opponent for the win.
