Wildlife is particularly active during this season which makes wildlife viewing thrilling, but spectators are reminded to be extremely careful.

The elk rut is underway, with maximum rut attributed to September 21. Male elk can be more aggressive during the mating season which begins in September and ends in October.

Black and brown bears are currently in a state of binge eating and drinking nonstop to gain weight for winter hibernation. During binge eating, bears are very active, in search of food sources.
