WORCESTER, MASS. (WHDH) – A soldier was hospitalized following an accident involving a state police cruiser in Worcester late Monday evening.
The soldier had pulled over to assist a broken down tanker when a white SUV slammed into the back of the cruise vehicle on eastbound Interstate 290 near the Burncoat Street exit ramp, police said of State to 7NEWS at the scene.
The soldier was taken to a hospital in the area, where his current condition has not been released.
The vehicle involved in the accident sustained extensive damage to the front, while the rear of the cruiser was also damaged.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
No additional information was immediately available.
