Some Weis Markets stores to start administering COVID-19 vaccines

(WBNG) – Weis Markets has announced that some of its pharmacies will start administering COVID-19 vaccines from January 14.

The stores that will administer the vaccines include its West Corners location on Day Hollow Road, its Binghamton location on Robinson Street, and its Vestal location on Rano Boulevard.

Weis Markets pharmacy staff will prioritize people 65 and over for vaccinations, based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control.

Weis says he will administer the Moderna vaccine.

“Over time, we hope to expand into other priority categories as the vaccine becomes more available and in coordination with the state,” Rick Seipp, vice president of pharmacy at Weis Markets said in a statement. Press.

Seipp also wants to remind people who receive the vaccine that they will need a second dose after four weeks after receiving their first.

Masks are needed to receive the vaccine.

Elmira’s Main Street site will also administer vaccines.
