The Chinese mobile phenomenon Oneplus is today one of the fastest growing companies in the world, with profits and sales of more than 11 billion kroner in 2017.
When Pete Lau founded Oneplus with four other Chinese businessmen in 2013, Carl Pei, a Swedish star, had the opportunity to lead the international part of the mobile phone company.
Now, Oneplus enters the US market, supported by mobile phone operator T-Mobile and chip maker Qualcomm. He reports Reuters.
The Oneplus phone to display for the US market this Monday is the 6T model. The agreement is a real feather in the Oneplus hat, becoming one of the few Chinese phone manufacturers to have managed to contact a major US operator.
Oneplus is unusual for Chinese consumer electronics manufacturers, as it does not focus on cheap products, but on high-end phones.
The phones are sold almost exclusively online and two-thirds of Oneplus' revenues come from countries other than China.
According to Reuters sources, Sweden's Carl Pei is behind the launch of the phone in the giant US market. Oneplus is now challenging Apple, which holds 43% of the global market share in the premium segment, at home.

According to recent figures from the Counterpoint analyst, Oneplus ranks third in the Swedish smartphone market sold in the high-end segment, which costs between $ 400 and $ 600, or between SKr3,500 and 3,300. In Sweden, the Shenzhen-based company is working with Telia and Telenor.
The company also ranks among the top five in the sector in France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In total, Oneplus ranks fourth in all of Western Europe.
Oneplus has also become Qualcomm's third largest customer for the most expensive and advanced mobile phone chips, according to data from analyst Canalys.
There is no official assessment on One Plus, which owns the same ownership company as another major Chinese mobile brand, Oppo. Carl Pei previously confirmed to Di Digital that he owned shares of Oneplus, but did not want to specify his share.
