Taste if it costs! Rarely has a proverb been as true to reality as when a rare big white truffle had been auctioned at 85,000 euros in the Albar region of Italy.

The high price – equivalent to nearly 880,000 SEK – is partly explained by the fact that the money from the auction was donated to a charity, partly because the soldier soldier was exceptionally big with its tasty 850 grams. The bigger the truffle, the more valuable it is, says the auction spokesperson.
The final price means that the truffle cost a little over 1000 SEK per gram, compared to the average market price of 36 crowns.
