Last year 2.1 million attempts to misappropriate identity were made. Out of 237,000 people, the bluff came back home – a 21% increase since the previous year. It shows a new survey commissioned by MySafety, writes Expressen.

"It's disappointing, identity piracy against individuals and consumers continues to increase, the underlying organized crime has huge resources," said PA Prabert , responsible for the communication of Mysafety to the newspaper.

Lotta Mauritzson, an expert with national police officers, NBC, told Expressen that the police's own statistics show even higher figures: 25 to 26 percent increase in fraud.
