New entry fees for culture in Helsingborg 2019

Tax funding by the Committee on Culture is expected to decrease in 2019, while prices, rents and labor costs are expected to increase. In order to fill the economic gap while producing a qualitative culture of the committee's priority target groups (focusing on children and young people), public revenues must increase. New entry fees and fees will begin on January 1, 2019.

The Culture Council sets the entrance fees, the culture card fee, the fixed discount schemes and the age limits for the activities of the Council for Culture each year. For the year 2019, price adjustments for Kulturkort, a discount for retirees on Kulturkort and the normal entrance fee for adults in the Fredriksdal museums and gardens, the Kulturhus Dunkers and Kärnan are offered. Fees applicable from January 2019 are indicated in the attached document "Provision of Entry Fees, etc. 2019" with journal number 295/2018. The remaining fees and prices, such as discount agreements and indicative group prices, are set by the Culture Administration in accordance with the existing work instructions for cultural management.

The chairman of the cultural commission, Kristian Andersson, about the changes:

How do you think cultural visitors to Helsingborg will receive higher entrance fees?

"I am convinced that the Helsingborgs still consider the culture card as an excellent opportunity to discover the cultural offerings of the city. After many years of unchanged pricing, we are approaching the price of entry for similar cultural experiences in Sweden, that visitors will find more than affordable.

What does the increase in income, while the increase means, mean the cultural offer in Helsingborg?

– Continue to create the conditions of culture and, preferably, our target group with the highest priority, children. Helsingborg is facing economic challenges and we can not count on the same financial allocation.
