On Sunday, Malmöbon Nathalie Ernstad, 24, and her fiancé flew to Örnsköldsvik with their three children – the youngest of whom was only nine months old.

But the trip with SAS continued as planned.

– Nathalie Ernstad, 24, and her fiancé Pierre Karlsson, 34, were going to meet parents in Ornskoldsvik with their children last night. Three children decided not to go as usual.

– We thought we were flying this time. Because it would be faster and smoother now that we have a baby with us, said Nathalie.

So, the young family booked air tickets to Malmö – round trip with SAS.

The planet was placed in it.

The planet would rise from Sturup at 17.15 on Sunday afternoon and they would then arrive at Örnsköldsvik 20.20 in the evening after a change in Stockholm.

But about four hours before departure, they received an SMS that the plane to Stockholm was canceled.

A little over two hours in the phone queue

Although the message insists on Nathalie, she tries to calm down and calls SAS for more information. But after two hours without a response, she realized that they had to go to the airport. When the family went to Sturup and Nathalie had been standing for half an hour, she left and left.

When they arrived at the airport, the pursuit of information continued and they finally discovered that they were going to Stockholm to catch a bus. The trip would take eight hours and then they should sleep in the hotel for the morning to catch a flight at 9.

– Just when you have kids is so much harder. If we had discovered what the trip would already look like in the first text, we could have prepared and customized our packaging, "said Nathalie.

" It's scary "

How frustrating it was to accept the position and jump on the bus but when the family arrived at 2 pm there was no information about the hotels or anything else.

– It was a bit scary. It was completely empty everywhere, the clock was two in the evening, we stayed there and we just looked and wondered where we would get help.

The family wandered for an hour until they arrive at a hotel where they were told that SAS had not reserved room for them.

– Then I realized we had to spend the night. night there on the floor. With three children, Nathalie says:

Nathalie and Pierre have to spend the night in a bathroom e waiting with children of eight, five and nine months.

– Half the night, the children slept on suitcases, until we finally found a free bench. Then we moved them, "said Nathalie.

SAS: "Deeply unhappy"

When Aftonbladet reaches Freja Annamatz, Press Attaché for SAS in Sweden, she regrets the incident.

– Passengers will receive food and a stay at the hotel, so it will be on this type of delay, she says, continuing:

– In this case, it seems like it's a error on our part, which is of course deeply regrettable.

"It is deeply regrettable that the flight had to be canceled," says Freja Annamatz of SAS.

Freja Annamatz explains that there might be a possibility of financial compensation depending on the duration and the delay of the trip. She encourages Nathalie and her family to make the request.

"Children are disappointed"

Now, Nathalie and the family are finally at their parents' home – but at least the holidays have had a difficult start.

– It was a difficult night. The children are disappointed, horrible and sensitive. They find that they have not slept.
