Top manager leaves Spotify

Spotify Manager Troy Carter has been employed by Spotify since 2016 to help the company improve its relationship with the music industry. Spotify's relationship with music companies has recently been problematic, much because Spotify has been trying to do business directly with artists.

Recently, the Financial Times reported that several record companies have refused to grant Spotify licenses in India.

Before Troy Carter was recruited to Spotify where he included the director of Artists like Lady Gaga and her company in charge of the career of Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, according to Variety's music magazine.

According to Variety, Troy Carter was furious about the new policy and threatened to resign.
