Fines are granted for violation of two points of the Data Protection Act as a result of an investigation by the British Commissioner to the Commission of Information (ICO).
The Authority considers that Facebook has not protected the data of its users and provided users with sufficient information on how this information was shared with third parties.
The fine amounts to just over 500,000 euros. Since the date of the infringements that occurred before the entry into force of the new data protection regulation this year, ICO must comply with the old data protection rules in which the ceiling is set. at around 500,000 euros.
