Anyone visiting the emergency room of the hospital should pay a fee of about 50 francs. That's what the National Council Health Commission (SGK) wants.
The SGK approved two parliamentary initiatives, the parliamentary services announced Friday. With the fees, she wants to limit unnecessary medical visits and insignificant cases in the emergency room. If the Senate Council is in agreement, the SGK can draft a bill to amend the law.
The initiative of Thomas Weibel (GLP / ZH) granted them 17 to 7 votes. Weibel is asking for a fee of about 50 francs to enter a hospital emergency. This would be omitted in children and adolescents, in the case of a medical assignment or subsequent hospitalization.
"Sharing Symbolic Costs"
The initiative of Thomas Burgherr (SVP / AG) took the SGK 12 votes in favor, 9 against and 2 abstentions. According to his wishes, whenever a hospital or external clinic visits a new case of treatment, a "symbolic share of costs" in cash and collected immediately. In the hospital ambulance, the amount would be twice as high as in medical offices.
Parliament should be able to define exceptions for certain groups of patients and certain medical measures. For difficult cases – for example marginal people without money – the Federal Council would issue a debt collection solution
