20 minutes – the bus drives without driver

VBSG CEO Ralf Eigenmann confirms the incident against "St. Galler Tagblatt. He passed the end of June at the Bernggstrasse stop in St. Gallen. The VBSG driver got off the bus because the back door could not close, not even manually. He had to turn off the bus via the main switch on the left side of the vehicle.

However, this resulted in the stop brake being released. This is normally activated at each stop by the driver with the unlocking of the doors. The parking brake had not maneuvered the driver in this case. And so the bus rolled off the sloping road.

Regrets Driver Incident

Eventually, the driver was able to stop the vehicle by pulling the parking brake through the driver's open window. "This behavior is grossly negligent," says Eigenmann at "Tagblatt". What consequences of the incident for the driver he could not yet say. The driver regrets the incident but deeply.

While jumping off the bus in motion, some passengers were injured. For their healing costs, the VBSG would arrive. "Not only because we have to, but because we feel morally compelled to do it," says Eigenmann. An advertisement against the driver has not been refunded.
