On the weekend of June 29 to July 1, 2018, the 27th edition of the Federal Festival of tambourine and Whistler was held in the Bulle de Friborg. Of the 2800 participants with 800 soloists and more than 100 formations, the Appenzell were well represented. Nearly 50,000 visitors made the event a good time and Federal Councilor Alain Berset did not miss this rhythmic and musical treat during Sunday's ceremony. This festival only takes place every four years and therefore enjoys a special place in the schedule of the drummers and Pfeifer.

Already on Friday, motivated Appenzells were traveling by train to Bulle and trying to control their emergent nervousness. The accommodation planned in a gym had to be changed in a short time because a fire had broken out. Although this relocation for about 1000 people has gone well, but does not necessarily have a calming effect on the game ahead. But they all mastered their task well and succeeded in the end.

The Appenzell drummers started as S3 class training with 12 drummers and got the excellent eighth out of a total of 25 participating formations. Participants in the section competitions were: Andrin Kuppelwieser (principal), Remo Broger, Joel Cadosch, Fabian Dörig, Lukas Fritsche, Yannick Heldner, Ralph Inauen, Remo Koller, Roman Kölbener, Patrick Neff, Tobias Neff, Christian Städler, Thomas Ulmann and Maurus Broger (Ensign)

In the individual games, a considerable number of participants got a federal crown and thus one of the most coveted branches of the Loorbeer: category T3J: Lukas Fritsche (1st place), Joel Cadosch (2nd place). In the T3 category, three other curious Innerrhoders won a federal laurel wreath: Thomas Ulmann (3rd), Christian Städler (4th) and Remo Koller (6th).
