Those currently entering the Rosengarten Gallery in Bälliz 64 will be surprised by the colorful splendor reflected in the paintings of Vinzenz Daxelhofer
The Bernese artist has already exhibited at the Rose Ueltschi gallery and visitors satisfied with his colorful works. This is also the case of the current exhibition entitled "Werkrückblicke"
. It's not just the colorful aspects that delight: it's the extraordinary harmony and subtle combination of colors that delight the eye and the heart. With the wet-on-wet technique, Daxelhofer allows colors to flow into each other in a targeted way – letting them grow and unfold. For example, he titled one of his images "The Wedding of Colors".
Graphic and Abstract
The painter passed the colors from yellow to red and orange. In some paintings, he kept fluid colors in contrast with the fine lines.
In other works, strong outlines frame the rich colors and connect them to a significant unity. The images with the graphic lines and shapes express Daxelhofer 's education as an architect. The abstract forms he has laid on the colorful areas are also full of spirit.
Although the images shine brightly and radiate a certain amount of energy, they are by no means overly dominant. This is ensured by the color balance and the great skill of Daxelhofer. His paintings speak of joy of life and satisfaction at work
The exhibition lasts until July 28 and is open from Tuesday to Friday from 2 pm to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. www.galerie-rosengarten.ch (Thuner Tagblatt)
