The cars in front of the north gate of the Gotthard are blocked by ten kilometers

Travelers need a lot of patience for the road to the south again. At the beginning of the morning of Saturday, the vehicles were blocked in front of the gate north of the Gotthard to the south, about ten kilometers long.

Congestion had increased steadily during the night. Shortly before six o'clock in the morning, according to the TCS, the maximum waiting time was two hours. The TCS recommends as alternative routes the A13 via San Bernardino as well as the open alpine passes. Traffic delays on the Gotthard should continue as planned until the evening.

Saturday traffic jams were expected. In Baden-Württemberg, the third largest and only German state bordering Switzerland, since the school holidays since Thursday. In Bavaria, they start on Saturday. Thus, the summer holidays are currently in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.
