Excavators move away, nature comes together. This is the landscape plan of the gravel quarry between Basel, Allschwil, St. Louis and Hegenheim. A park planned as part of the Basel International Building Exhibition (IBA) must now become a reality, according to the Canton Basel-Stadt. The Career Park will be completed in stages until 2025 and progresses as the gravel leaves the area.
The Governing Council proposes start-up financing of 1.1 million francs for the project. Sponsorship, the Career Park is founded in early December. The members of the association are the building and traffic department of Basel-City, the cities of St. Louis and Hégenheim, the municipal association Saint-Louis Agglomération, the commune of Allschwil, the Bürgerspital Basel and the Kibag gravel extraction company.
