Some apartments are a dream come true, in which we would like to go right away. Exactly this dream that we found in the family of Susanne Wadsack and Sven Götti.

It's the summer holidays, also for our author. That's why we publish contributions that have given a lot to talk about. This entry was posted on September 10, 2016.

  Sweet Home

Susanne Wadsack and Sven Götti live with their daughter Paula and the Lucky dog beautifully and very relaxed in a spacious apartment in Zurich Engequartier. Susanne Wadsack creates beautiful knit sweaters and accessories that can be knitted quickly and easily through a ready-to-use set. She calls it "ready-made," and of course I've introduced it as a big fan of knitting on the blog.

When I met Susanne for the first time at an exhibition, I asked her: Beautiful? "Of course, the question was related to the hope of a great story at home. When I entered the apartment with the photographer Sweet Home, Rita Palanikumar, by a day of ### On sunny summer, I understand this joyous glow, because we immediately feel at home in this beautiful, elegant and relaxed apartment, well, we find not only spacious, bright and extraordinarily comfortable rooms, but also colorful walls, details affectionate and a warm atmosphere.

  Sweet Home

The family was lucky. For 17 years, you lived in the beautiful old apartment, which is typical of the elegant Zurich Engequartier. five years, they were able to buy the entire house because they always had good relations with the family owner and it was important that the house retains its character. The family moved into a rented apartment in the same neighborhood for a year and had the old house slowly renovated. They have their apartment increased by an additional floor. The relationship to life has become even more intense, because the feeling that their beloved home now belongs to them, has made a lot more desire to live.

Both were very important for everything to be better, but not different. They left all the beautiful old buildings and looked for things that could not be renovated for an identical replacement. Thus, the living rooms and the whole house have fresh, but authentic air. Typical old-style apartments in the good-middle-class neighborhoods to which Enge belongs, are the spacious and nested rooms. This is emphasized by Susanne and Sven by a skillful neutral coloring. The noble Täfer radiates white in the soft and luminous mocha tones of the walls. Both lounges have been furnished with large sofas and small antique bedside tables. Incidentally, a room also serves as a guest room. "So the couch simply becomes bed linen," Susanne answers my question, if that's because the sofa beds are there.

Furniture solutions so obvious that it is found in all rooms. So there are a lot of big pieces, but just as they just have space and meaning. The fantastic buffet of Trix and Robert Haussmann brought Sven into the wedding. The optician, who turned his profession into a successful passion and eyewear design company, found him in Lucerne when he was working there. Now he is in the dining room in front of one of the many windows because he simply has the best place and it looks so natural.

Under the large, comfortable wooden table, around the elegant Wegner chairs, is a white-black Berber classic placed. This brings an extra dose of comfort into the dining room and provides a kind of stage for the table and chairs.

The couple loves old things and finds – and of course Lucky thinking dogs!

Susanne did her great love of knitting her work. She designs beautiful sweaters and jackets, easy to knit with large cuts and all kinds of accessories such as hats and scarves. She offers them online in her shop "ready-to-do" in complete package. It contains wool, needles, patterns and instructions. And, of course, the guarantee that the piece manufactured by itself looks really good sits and succeeds. With that, she struck the spirit of the time. To make oneself and to create something for oneself has become a great need in a digitized world where the authenticity of life and creativity often goes unnoticed. His love for knitting explains: "I love the peace and rhythm of knitting, knowing how point after point is turned into an object. Knitting has something meditative and very rewarding. Susanne also found a way to work at home, which is important for her as a mother. Thus, the beautiful apartment is used and appreciated even more intensely.

Of course, the apartment also offers space for a spacious study. Here, Susanne can diffuse and live her ideas, her woolen patterns, her drawings and her inspirations. But they like to knit throughout the apartment, just about anywhere in their favorite places, even on the balcony or on the rooftop terrace.

The couple shares the study. Sven Götti also designs his famous glasses at home. His company is in Wädenswil, where he often works with his team of 20 people. But for the design phase, the calm and inspiring environment of his own home help. As an optician, he did not always find the glasses that he wanted to offer to his clients. So he started to design it himself. The Götti collection has since gained international renown and is available in many optician stores.

Sven Götti's latest creations are hung on the wall, and the prototypes and found objects are placed on the wall shelf.

The couple shares the study and enjoys working together in a harmonious and inspiring way.

The kitchen has been modernized and has received a lot of comfort. But the main actor remains the beautiful old stone floor.

In the elegant The City Apartment is also the outer space of the highest importance. You can feel it especially in summer in the most beautiful way, namely through the open doors to the large, comfortably furnished balcony and the view of the trees and neighboring houses.

The "new" enlarged apartment now includes the staircase that leads to the upper floor.

In order to make this cozy and part of the apartment, pretty little corners were set up on the stairs.

Here is a chair, there is a small table – it seems random and radiates a lot home feeling.

On the first floor are the bedrooms and a large bathroom. The master bedroom with its own little balcony could also be in Paris (at least I think) and is probably one of the friendliest rooms I've ever seen.

  Sweet Home

Of course, there is also a lack of comfort and attention to detail.

Next to the bedroom is a large open dressing room, where the refined Coat Racks provide comfortable and stylish access to clothing and shoes.

Paula also has a small empire in the attic. On his bed, Lucky just found a favorite place

a shelf, a seat and a freestanding bathtub offers.

The highlight of the large family apartment is the roof terrace. Here we find a big barbecue where Sven likes to grill something good at night or with invitations. But also a long table, lined with comfortable armchairs adorned with sand velvet cushions. These were discovered by Sven and Susanne in Marseille, when they spent their holidays in a Bed & Breakfast, "Casa Honoré", which is also a shop and designs and sells very special retro furniture.
