The man had fished with two other people from a boat on Tuesday afternoon. When he capsized around 3:20 pm, the three inmates fell into the water.
According to cantonal Valais police, two boat prisoners were able to return to the ground after the accident. A 74 year old man sank in the water and had to be rescued by divers. Immediate attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.
The reason the boat capsized near a pontoon is unknown, according to the police report. The prosecution opened an investigation
